PV Lighthouse is continually revised and expanded. It receives contributions from an ever increasing number of PV scientists and engineers, as listed below.

If you would like us to host your software, convert your computer program into an online calculator, or make your materials data readily accessible, please email us at support@pvlighthouse.com.au.

Lectures and white papers:

Pietro Altermatt (Trina) wrote three lectures on the fundamentals of photovoltaics.

Paul Basore wrote the white papers on LCOE, Lambertian optics, and finding max-power.

Calculators:

Simeon Baker-Finch (First Solar, AGL and 5B) contributed greatly to the development of the optical and semiconductor calculators, especially during the 8 months he spent with PV Lighthouse (2013-14).

Paul Basore created the cost-points calculator.

Gianluca Coletti (TNO) conceived and contributed towards the development of the ingot impurity calculator.

Kris Davis (UCF) and Eric Schneller (UCF) co-developed and funded the metrology cost calculator.

Mattias Juhl (UNSW) funded and assisted in connecting the defect repository to the semiconductor defects library.

Anonymous funded the development of the backsheet calculator and the Guassian distribution light source in SunSolve-Power.

Hanwha Q cells co-funded and beta-tested the expansion of SunSolve to include free-carrier absorption and custom-data libraries. Particular thanks to Matthias Schütze, Martina Queck and Saioa Tardon.

Software:

Alison Lennon (UNSW, SunDrive) co-created PV Factory, an online program that simulates a solar cell production line.

Andreas Fell (ANU, Fraunhofer) created Quokka, a 2D/3D simulation package for solar cells.

Carlos Vargas co-developer of LumiTools, a suite of advanced tools for the processing and analysis of luminescence images.

David Payne (UNSW, Macquarie university) created LumiTools, a suite of advanced tools for the processing and analysis of luminescence images.

Halvard Haug (IFE) created cmd-PC1D 6.0 and PC1D for Matlab 2, a modified version of PC1D with a new graphical user interface.

Johnson Wong and Ranjani Sridharan (SERIS) created Griddler, an easy-to-use freeware program that determines how the electrical performance of a solar cell depends on the design of its metal contacts. Johnson is also the inventor of Module, a finite-element simulation program for solar panels.

Marco Ernst (ANU) created SunCalculator, a program that calculates the angular and spectral distribution of solar irradiance.

Kai Wang, William McLean and Henner Kampwerth (UNSW) created TPL1D, which simulates the 1D transient photoluminescent (PL) signal of a silicon wafer under pulsating illumination.

Shen–Long Ooi (UNSW) created SPosi, which determines the position of the sun in the sky at any time and location.

Ronald Naber Created SCiDA Pro, a freely downloadable program that analyses solar cell production data, Discrete Event Simulation for Solar Cell Production, which simulates a solar cell production line, and CTOSC, a toolbox for solar cell characterization. He also created a web app called Azura to manage and execute experiments in laboratories and pilot lines.

Milan Padilla, Christian Reichel and Pierre Saint-Cast (Fraunhofer ISE) created SARAH, a fast 2D analytical model for interdigitated back-contact (IBC) solar cells.

Johannes Eisenlohr, Nico Tucher and Habtamu Gebrewold (Fraunhofer ISE) created OPTOS, a matrix-based formalism to determine the optical characteristics of thick sheets with textured interfaces on both sides.

William Barker (ANU) created PUC (photoconductance uncertainty calculator), an Excel program that analyses Sinton lifetime files to determine the uncertainty in the measured lifetime outputs.

Mehul Raval (IIT-B) posted an Excel spreadsheet that assists in the loss analysis of a solar cell from experimental data.

Pietro Altermatt (Trina) created and posted an Excel file that generate input files and view outputs for Sentaurus.

Translations:

Tommaso Pento (Uni Padova) provided Italian translations to Altermatt's lectures on photovoltaics.

Dongchul Suh (GFC–MES) provided Korean translations for the equivalent circuit calculator, resistivity calculator and sheet resistance calculator.

Yimao Wan (ANU) provided Chinese translations for the equivalent circuit calculator, the sheet resistance calculator, the resistivity calculator, and the spectral mismatch calculator.

Karola Rühle (Univ Freiburg – IMTEK) provided German translations for the spectral mismatch calculator.
